Cognac is music… Classics and Jazz!
“Classics and Jazz” – is the idea of Denis Matsuev, which lives on through “remarkable moment”. It’s very rare for the viewer not to know the program of the concert, which he is going to. This year, for the sixth evening of “Cognac is music”, organized by Domain des Broix, Denis Matsuev and his friends wished to surprise the public from the first chords…
Having a great repertoire at hand, Denis Matsuev also distinguished himself in romantic music. Being a passionate fan of jazz, he sometimes includes his own compositions and improvisations on the jazz theme in his programs.
“I have been improvising on the fortepiano since I was a little boy. My father, a great pianist, has always played jazz in parallel with classical music. Oscar Peterson is a God for us! For those who want to hear, I’m telling, that classical music – is my wife, while jazz – is my mistress”.
With his friends: Andrey Ivanov at the contrabass, Borislav Strulev – violoncello, Dimitrii Sevastianov – the drums, and Aidar Gainulin – accordion, Denis Matsuev has taken us to the border of classical music, flirting with the jazz pace, always full of happiness and humor. You can still hear the echoes of the high class concert, which has captured and inspired the guests, in the hilly slopes of Grand Champagne.
